What We Believe
We believe that the Bible is inspired by God, authoritative, inerrant, and infallible. It is the primary means by which God has spoken to his people and it is profitable for all of life and Christian growth.
We believe that there is only one living and true God. The Godhead consist of three persons in one substance, power, and eternity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
We believe that man is the special creation of God, made in His own image. He created them as the crowning work of His creation. In the beginning man was innocent of sin and was endowed by his Creator with freedom of choice. By his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. Therefore, as soon as they are capable of moral action, they become transgressors and are under condemnation. Only the grace of God can bring man into His holy fellowship and enable man to fulfill the creative purpose of God.
cf. Genesis 1:27; Genesis 3:1-24; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; 6:23
We believe that salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone, by grace alone, through faith alone.
cf. Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 4:11-12; 20:21; John 14:6. See https://thestoryfilm.com/watch/en to see a video explaining salvation.
We believe that the church is not a building but a people. We are the people of God saved by the power of God for the purposes of God. The church is the primary means by which God intends to accomplish his purposes in the world.
To make disciples of Jesus Christ, and to equip them for a life of worship, love, service and evangelism.
cf. Matthew 28:19-20; Eph. 4:11-16
We believe that baptism is a significant and outward expression of an inward transformation, symbolizing the believer’s identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is an act of obedience commanded by Christ for those who have put their faith and trust in Him. We practice baptism by immersion as is represented in Scripture.
cf. Matthew 3:13-17; 26:26-30; 28:19-20; Mark 1:9-11; 14:22-26; Luke 3:21-22
We believe that marriage is a sacred institution established by God and designed to be a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman.
cf. Genesis 1:26-28; 2:15-25; 3:1-20; Exodus 20:12; Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Joshua 24:15
We believe that God created humanity in His image, distinctly male and female. Both genders reflect the image of God equally, yet have distinct roles and purposes. The Bible teaches that gender is not fluid, but divinely designed, and we affirm the value, dignity, and equality of both men and women.
cf. Genesis 1:26-30; 2:5,7,18-22; 3; 9:6; Psalms 1; 8:3-6; 32:1-5; 51:5; Isaiah 6:5
We believe that the role of elder and pastor is biblically reserved for qualified men. Elders are called to lead, shepherd, and oversee the church with wisdom, humility, and integrity. We affirm the equal value and gifting of both men and women in the body of Christ, while also recognizing the distinct roles that God has appointed for each.
cf. 1 Timothy 2:12-14; 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9
We believe that salvation is entirely the work of God, who, in His sovereignty, predestines and calls sinners to Himself through the finished work of Jesus Christ. While God initiates and completes this divine work, each person is responsible to respond to His grace in repentance and faith.
We recognize that there may be different interpretations regarding the relationship between God’s sovereignty and human responsibility, and we respect these differences, holding both truths in tension. In this, we embrace Christian liberty, allowing for diverse views while maintaining unity in the core message of the Gospel.
cf. Genesis 12:1-3; Exodus 19:5-8; Romans 5:9-10; 8:28-39; Ephesians 1:4-23; 2:1-10; Colossians 1:12-14; 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14; 2 Timothy 1:12
